to the church of Chanel. Got myself some Vitalumiere last week. Absolutely LOVE it. I'm not even really a foundation sort of person - usually use tinted moisturiser - but it is fab. So easy to use and I have actually had compliments..!

May I just ask you two, which product in that range is it you'd recommend? ONly, there is a compact, a fluid in a pumpy thing, and a creme in a jar... I've been trying to find a good foundation, so thought i'd give it a go, if recommended by a couple of people

So, erm... which is it?

TheCoderator · 12/04/2008 09:05

ok if oyu ahev DRY skin and want a sheen then vitalumiere - i haev the pump i think the compact is the same in essence

oily skin then the matt one

if its too ehavy in summer then just diilute iwht face cream

AitchTwoOh · 12/04/2008 09:18

tell you what, cod, you should have a look at the paul and joe foundations. they're UNBELIEVABLY good imo.

TheCoderator · 12/04/2008 12:03

LINK!

AitchTwoOh · 12/04/2008 12:42

this is the one i'm using at the moment. goes on perfectly for spring/summer, feels very light but gives good coverage. (my skin's not great but i don't wear concealer with this).
apparently she went to Japan and just said 'give me your latest technology please' and i think you can feel that on your skin. i think it's £24 or something.

AitchTwoOh · 12/04/2008 12:43

oh by the way i finally remembered to call my mate, she's going to speak to her clients but was positive.

TheCoderator · 12/04/2008 13:12

Estee Lauder daywear tint www.mistrys.co.uk/estee-lauder-daywear-plus-antioxidant-sheer-tint-spf15-p-813.html is lovely but a bit expensive (well, it is in real shops not in our lovely army shop - 16 euros!)

If not, I can send some over if you like (as a forces wife, you are actually entitled to shop in the army special cheap make-up shop - it's probably just a bit far to come )

Sazisi · 12/04/2008 15:41

I had Chanel VL, it is lovely, smells gorgeous and lasted me a year!

I now have a YSL which is meant employ the same technology as Touche Eclat - it is good, but doesnt wear as well as VL

Does anyone use those mineral powder foundations? They are meant to be less spot-inducing, I'm intrigued..

Scootergrrrl · 13/04/2008 07:12

It's probably still the same stuff on sale here Cod - I'll post a picture and you can meander down Memory Lane .

Nbg · 13/04/2008 07:44

Tis marvellous stuff.

I bought mine not long after Cod when she started a thread about it.
I'd been searching for a really good foundation for ages and this one is perfect. I've tried them all too. Laura Mercier to Max Factor.
None of them a patch on VL.

In fact I bought it in April 2006 and I have to admit I was a bit dubious as to how long it would last and at £28 a pot I thought I would be skint from buying it all the time.

I still have the same pot now!
Admittedly I dont wear it all the time but 2 years is pretty good going I think.

mamalovesmojitos · 13/04/2008 20:50

sazisi i just got maybelline mineral foundation. love it!

if you've dry skin be careful not to pile it on or it will settle in lines. but after you get the hang of application it's great!

only ever bought one bottle of foundation before, never liked the feeling of it, but this one feels so light and blends well.

it's cheap compared to laura mercier, bobbi brown etc and it made my skin look really flawless. lasts for hours and hours.
