Finding it very difficult to find clothes as a petite 50 year old

I am short, slim with no bust to speak of but in the past had no problems finding clothes to fit me well. But it seems such a struggle now. I think it’s a combination of factors - very oversized fashion and in general just less choice.

I have got a few bits from whistles petite but the choice is very limited and so much in polyester. I have even looked at Boden but most of it is just not “me”.

Anyone else really struggle?

Vinted is your friend - look up brands/styles you know suit and fit you from past seasons. I agree oversized fashion is not for us littl’uns 😉

@VanCleefArpels yes! I do actually buy on Vinted but can’t always find what I need. But you are right - E.g. I have bought a couple of skirts from Baukjen that fit me well whereas their new range looks terrible on me.

You sound the same body shape/ height as me. The best thing thats happened to me is finding a local seamstress that alters things for me at a reasonable price. I can now buy what i like rather than be limited.

Honestly it won’t go down well on here but one of the only places I can consistently buy from successfully is SheIn. Specifically their Dazy or MOTF ranges which are much higher quality and luckily no vanity sizing. Plus the ranges are so extensive that I will always find what I’m looking for. I don’t use it as Fast Fashion - I have gorgeous clothes from there that I’ve had for 7 years plus - and they wash really well.

52, 5 foot 2 and 7 stone 10 and very small framed.
