This dress here. What do you think?

I'm sure someone with far more experience than me will come along soon and suggest something subtle but i went to a wedding once in a similar lemon dress with black shoes and a big black hat. And i had alot of compliments.

Failing that - maybe gold?

JossStick · 10/04/2008 21:11

Lovely dress btw

REIDmylips · 10/04/2008 21:12

i would wear black and have a black handbag too - i agree, lovely dress!

Lucy10 · 10/04/2008 21:12

I'd try silver...

DrNortherner · 10/04/2008 21:12

Love that dress.

Gold will make you look like a latin dancer imo. I reckon black and black bag/accessories.

Piffle · 10/04/2008 21:14

dark brown looks good with yellow...

Too much black tho and you could look like a queen bee....

LittleMissBliss · 10/04/2008 21:17

Thankyou! I'm wearing it to a friends Birthday. I thought black aswell or possibly a really contrasting colour with a bag or earings to match. What sort of style? I want a bit of height as i'm only 5'4. Any links?

I've been looking all evening and i can't find the right pair. I don't think i could wear brown shoes as i have brown skin and it may look a little odd!

nicwe and cheap

specialmagiclady · 10/04/2008 21:22

I think shoes should either match your dress or your legs (the latter will make them look much longer). Black shoes with a pale dress can be clunky. If you did go for black they should be very very light shoes. No big heels, very naked sandals.

She said, sat here in her holey socks, too-short tracksuit bottoms and manky old cardi... God I look a dog's arse.

LittleMissBliss · 10/04/2008 21:25

DrNortherner- They are sweet but i'd like a bit more height!

special- do you think more of a strappy sandle?

fishie · 10/04/2008 21:25

navy

REIDmylips · 10/04/2008 21:25

these are quite delicate et would add height?

shreddies · 10/04/2008 21:26

Erm, does grey sometimes go with yellow, or am I v off track here?

DrNortherner · 10/04/2008 21:27

yellow dress with cream shoes with beige platform and heel

REIDmylips · 10/04/2008 21:28

you could be really brave and try these with a matching red handbag

southeastastra · 10/04/2008 21:28

silvery sandle with big wedge heel

REIDmylips · 10/04/2008 21:28

love that look DrN!! well spotted!

VoodooCoconut · 10/04/2008 21:29

yellow, cream, silver, white, or in some cases red or black or blue...anything really...

Ulysees · 10/04/2008 21:30

i was thinking a brown too or neutral-ish.

Apparently shoes and bag shouldn't match??

LittleMissBliss · 10/04/2008 21:30

REID- I like the style but maybe something a bit more glitzy!

It's my friends 21st and first night away from my baby (he'll be nearly 6m) so i want to look really special, not mumsy, but not tarty! Just wow doesn't she look lovely!
