Can your hair become wavy/curly naturally after 3 decades of straightness?

Because recently after leaving my hair to dry naturally after washing ( as I usually do) I have woken up with wavy hair (proper wavy, like a very loose perm-ish).
I have always had straight hair (with a slight kink at base of skull).

What is going on? Am I sleep-perming??

Is very strange.
30 years of straight hair, then suddenly...
Mind you, the waves brush out and don't come back until I wash it again

Mine went wavy when I was about 25....

Yep, after I had dd my hair now goes curly and wavy depending on the weather, used to be straight as a dye.

Wavy-hair-virgin question...
How do I stop the waves disappearing when I brush my hair?

I used to have poker-straight hair. went wavy during pregnancy, and never went back

ranting · 10/04/2008 20:00

Don't brush it. Just put some texturiser on it.

tigana · 10/04/2008 20:02

...but if I don't brush it how will I get rid of the messy birds-nest bit first thing in the morning?

Since having DS2 I have a very odd very frizzy section at the back of my otherwise poker straight hair

southeastastra · 10/04/2008 20:14

blow dry it straight in the morning
