There usually is a thread about now re spring/summer bags!
I have a couple of metallic ones,a straw one for high summer and a squashy cream leather one.

newgirl · 12/04/2008 13:04

janeite - you sound very stylish too!

silent - i think id like a cream squashy bag i think i will have a look for one too - in easy living this month it suggests putting away all your black clothes/shoes/bags so you focus on wearing your more springl ike clothes. Of course my bag and shoes are black/dark brown...

luva - not sure what my favourite shop is - i tend to get bits from each of them in a random way. they tend to have a lifestyle (eg working woman off to cocktail party) that i dont really need. im not quite fatface off to the beach with my 20 year old boyfriend either

Think with jeans you just have to be prepared to try lots on....Topshop, M&S Limited Collction, Gap.

suwoo · 12/04/2008 14:05

That slubby shirred top from Top Shop is fab, I have it in that colour. They have just bought out sleeveless ones too for the summer.

janeite · 12/04/2008 18:53

Why, thankyou New Girl! I'm really not; my descriptive talents must be better than my sense of style!

Re: the Topshop slubby top; does anybody know what it's like on those equipped with norkage? Do those buttons open to make it a bit more v necky and avoid the matronly bosom look?

cardy · 13/04/2008 21:38

Yes they do open up. I have the top two oprn (average norkage!). The summer ones have a little frilly cap sleeve - only £14.

suwoo · 13/04/2008 21:49

Janeite, I am narrow backed but have big boobs (30F) I have to undo all the buttons in my size 10 as they gape. I should have got a 12, but they didn't have any . Although I am normally only a 10 or even 8 in Topshop so beware.

janeite · 13/04/2008 21:51

Thanks both; I will try it on open with a cami underneath then. I haven't tried anything on in Topshop since I was about 16 though and only go in now for dd1 (13)!

Cardy - love your name!

suwoo · 13/04/2008 22:50

I had the full serice from the Topshop style advisors recentrly and it was fab, bought a full capsule wardrobe last autumn, I have had two Topshop parties too, which I couldn't recommend highly enough. These services are offered by the London, Manchester and I think Edinburgh branches if you are near?

cardy · 14/04/2008 11:06

Thanks - Cardy....not that I am obsessed with clothes or anything!

Slubby shirred top - get a size bigger than you normally buy.

Topshop has gone through a renaissance recently so much better than it used to be.

newgirl · 14/04/2008 13:24

god i would love a top shop party - do they come out to sunny st albans? a bit in the sticks probably for them!

I've just bought a black cotton blazer style jacket from Espirit (in the sale, even better) which I wore over a fitted wool sleeveless tunic dress, long sleeved stripe top and skinny jeans and boots, sounds awful, looked good. I am living in the blazer since I bought it.
nailpolish always does cool clothes links.
