Raincoat that looks like tent material?

I know that's a really bad description- but do you know what I mean?

I've seen quite a few people in raincoats, they're khaki green, knee length, soft material, string gathered at the waist, the material is not at all plasticky and they look really nice - where will I get one from?

They must surely be high street and not something like Protected Species as I've seen a lot of them in places like *insert name of bog standard town centre here...

Any ideas?!

That fabric is more a Rain Mac really. They are shower resistant rather than waterproof ime so you will get wet in a downpour but stay pretty dry in a light drizzle.
I think Next has a shower resistant khaki coat iirc

Seasalt? They have genuinely waterproof coats.

My Protected Species coat is exactly like that

Try camping/hiking stores or brands. They usually have waterproof coats made out of gore tex and other water resistant fabrics.
You can find some quite nice ones!
