Birkenstock but cheap

Imatorturedpoet · 26/06/2024 19:29

Are there any sandals/sliders like Birkenstock Madrid that are cheaper, but support in the same way? Preferably in nice colours. I've looked in TKMaxx but nothing was as comfortable.

Alternatively anyone seen a code for money off Birkenstock or shops that sell them?

TIA.

If you buy Birkenstocks (and don’t wear them in wet weather) they’ll last you years. My first pair lasted 10 years and current pairs are about 5 years old and still going strong. If you can, this is one case where I’d say buy less/buy better.

True, I've had these about six years now, but the sole is going and the patent is scratched.

Fatface do some very similar. I usually buy the M&S ones for £25, but the colours are a bit rubbish this year. I've also got a nice pair from next.

Moshulu have decent Birkie dupes

Hindsight is great, I bought some burnished gold ones in winter for £45. I made a mistake last year and bought some imitations from Joules which were awful .

wutheringkites · 26/06/2024 20:48

What's your budget? The plastic Birkenstocks are comfortable and an ok price (compared to the normal ones).

I looked at the M&S ones last weekend and they look so plastic. M&S doesn't seem to even try any longer

Oxygen shoes are amazing and more comfortable than Birkies. I have had several pairs and even worn them in the sea!

Oxygen Shoes - Great designs, fantastic colours, but most important of all comfort for your feet.

DBil gets his from LIDL ; they last a summer. That is your choice. My Birkenstocks are very comfortable and 7 years old .

ArcticBells · 26/06/2024 20:52

Apologies @meetmeatsunset my post seems rude when I look back at it. Not intentional. Just not a fan of M&S these days.

I read good reviews of these but I've just ordered a new pair of birkies so...amzn.eu/d/0e5wEhfM

I came to recommend Moshulu, although i don't think they are particularly cheap.

Next have some similar, but they don't really have a molded footbed .

Imatorturedpoet · 26/06/2024 22:51

Thanks for all the suggestions. I've looked them all up, but no one seems to do the one strap style that Madrid are.

I guess I'll stick with Birkenstock, as that's the only style I like.

I've just looked these up and they look fab. Would you say they were true to size please?

I managed to find a pair in silver for £50 on Rubbersole.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

@ArcticBells the ones I mean from M&S aren't plastic. They're suede/leather with a cork sole. Probably not in stock anymore.

TinkerTiger · 27/06/2024 13:22

I had a pair of Lazy Dogz, very similar/supportive to Birkenstock and loved them.

cooldarkroom · 27/06/2024 16:30

You can get real Birkenstocks cheap on eBay

Hopeandmoss · 30/06/2024 08:17

@cupcakesandt yes true to size and fit well

Sermei · 13/06/2025 21:46

@Hopeandmoss how do oxygen sizes compare to Birkenstock please. I’m generally a size 4 (37) but am a 36 in Birkenstock.
