Should I paint my nails after manicure?

I've recently had a manicure to tidy my nails and they now look good. She didn't put any polish on them.

I have got some nice nude nail colours but in the past my nails have ended up splitting when I've wore them. Gel polish years ago just wrecked my own nails so that's out.

Am I better leaving them bare or just using a clear polish?

Ah - sorry @pussinboots61 - I was trying to tell you what the deletion was, but used the name of the troll that had posted on your thread. I'd go for a nail oil. Painted daily. It will keep your nails looking shinny plus it will help strengthen your nails.
