Pool wear when you're big

Once again I've lost no weight before our upcoming holiday so I need to make the most of what I am.

I'd love to know what other plus size ladies wear as all I seem to see on holiday is slim people in gorgeous clothes!

I'm an 18 - but short with it so look much bigger. I have massive boobs and some bra size swimming cossies and (shock horror) bikinis but struggle with pretty much all other holiday wear!

I've got a specific pot in Monzo that I've been squirelling away just for holiday clothes and it's taunting ne just sitting there!

Please help me not throw it all at beautiful things from the Trainers thread!

I wear linen shorts/trousers, denim shorts (although these can be a bit too hot sometimes), linen/Cotten T-shirts and floaty linen shirts.

If you pick 2-3 colours for your holiday wardrobe you can feel more "put together".

I get most of my linen clothes from H&M, sainsburys, even primark in the summer.

I wear a bikini and I'm a 20. Love the body you have not the one you want. Mine's lumpy and bumpy, who cares? No one, people are so wrapped up in themselves, no one notices.

Just wear what is comfy and cool. Tu at Sainsbury had some nice summer stuff this year. Find some things you like, and if they are not quite right, go to your local dressmaker and get them altered so they fit properly. That's what makes people look smart and put together.

H&M have some lovely pull on cropped trousers in floaty cotton/viscose fabric with matching resort type shirts that you could wear together or as separates. As a size 20 I buy the XL and it fits great. They have plain and some patterned (zebra I think and maybe flowery and a lovely blue and neutral print).
Some kind of kimono/cover up? There are a load on Vinted at the moment.
Are you looking for swimwear or stuff for pool side too?

MissFlimpkin · 26/06/2024 20:40

Of course you want to feel happy in yourself.

But your happiness is in your head. Not in the label of your swimwear. Wear what fits even if it's not the size you wish you were , enjoy your holiday- there will be bigger and smaller women everywhere and make memories.
When you get home no one will remember you or what you wore. Your husband or partner loves you anyway x

Just packed.. yes I'm away on holiday again.
I'm a plus size.
I prefer cool cotton dresses.. mainly from Yours clothing or simply be.. I do get some on vinted.
I wear swim dresses that cover thigh tops.
A nice beach cover up.
I don't like shorts although I'm tall and long legged.. l don't like the waists when I'm hot.
I will wear elastic wide cool leg trousers on an evening with a floaty tunic top.
I wear clarks cloud steppers sandals ( comfiest ever) and Croc flip flops.
Enjoy your hols.
