Are you 5’2” and a size 14?

If yes, have you recently bought any formal dresses?

I need something for a graduation/dinner event in the near future. I’ve seen quite a few lovely dresses online including Next petite but although the models are shorter, they are all very slim. Curvy/plus size websites I’ve looked at start at a 16 or 18.

I’m quite busty and hippy but also a fair muffin top - so it’s excess fat rather than being “big boned”, IYSWIM?

I’d favour mid length and nothing too colourful. Budget would be up to £200 ish.

Thanks for any inspiration you can give.

I'm shorter but similar to your description. Thought Clothing online is good, expensive but nice materials and great on sale (outlet online). Some busy and some more dark colour schemes. The midi on me is just above ankle and the knee-length is a midi on me, for reference.

Hi there, I'm a size 14/16 and a 34ff bra size. I usually get my dresses from Ted Baker. There is no petite size so the dresses come out a little longer but I don't mind this. Good luck

Oh I know I band on about them but try a wrap dress! I like Wallis and yes Roman have nice things as well.

i am 5ft 1 and was a 14

I'm 5' 4", and a quite heavily hourglass shape (bust two clothes sizes bigger than my waist) and I have previously been quite successful with Phase 8 clothing and have often got a bargain in the sale.

thanks for the suggestions. I’ve had a look online and planning to go to the physical shop’s tomorrow. Have seen 2 potential dresses so 🤞they suit me!

Not me, but my sister is. She gets a lot of her occasion wear at Never Fully Dressed and Hope and Ivy

I came on the recommend Roman too, like a previous poster.
I’m size 14, just five foot with a 36GG bust, hourglass but a bit chubbier round the middle than I’d like. I’ve had several Roman dresses that have all fitted perfectly unlike many brands that looked perfect online but dreadful once tried on.

I am a similar height and size... I recently bought two dresses from Hobbs in a size 12 and they fit really well and are very flattering. They are the fit and flare style. I'm usually a 14 in other stores but the 12 fit like a glove. I could have also bought a 14 but I'm actively trying to lose weight so thought the 12 would last longer X
