I slightly prefer George at Asda.
Have bought 2 really nice dresses at Sainsburys for dd though.

Ah but how do they make 'em so cheap? Whose little foreign fingers are red raw now from working on them???

Seasider · 09/04/2008 11:03

Yes, it is a worry about factory stuff, but places like Gap and banana republic have a bad rep. too, so don't just knock the supermarkets!

sushistar · 09/04/2008 20:40

Hey, when i can i get 2nd hand, but on £112 per week I struggle to afford People Tree! And I was impressed, Sainsburys have a whole range of fairtrade tshirts for men.

Where do you shop microwave?

Um Next Catalogue I can't get out anywhere else to shop with the kids (you know what I mean)!! i don' t like the really cheap clothes though at sainsbury's etc as they won't last. I think the problem with cheap these days is its so disposable which can't be good in the long term for the environment or the pocket.. Most of my clothes seem to last forever, I'm not sure George or TuTU would survive too many washes. But then I don't know if Next is fairtrade

MascaraOHara · 09/04/2008 21:57

Next is not fairtrade.. and if I recall correctly have recently been pulled up about their 'sweat shops'

paddingtonbear1 · 09/04/2008 22:47

The stuff I've bought from Asda and Sainsburys has lasted well. I've not bought their school stuff though as my friend tried it and didn't rate it - so I stuck with M&S. Like anywhere, it's good for some things and not others.
Quite a few of dd's things are from H&M - I dread to think about their rep re sweat shops...
