Loulou2024 is right that a drawstring makes these a lot safer. I once had a lovely one (but smaller) with a lilac gingham drawstring, was perfect

I went for the embroidered Apricot bag and I wasn’t even looking! I have one of a similar style to the Henrietta Spencer and use it constantly.

I ordered one of the French Bliss bags after reading this thread and I should have read the dimensions. I’ll fit everything (including the kitchen sink) in it!

I just ordered a second bag from Henrietta Spencer for a wedding, a small barrel shaped basket bag (which was on offer) it worked with my outfit perfectly!

@Picoloangel That Apricot bag has caught my eye too! Would you recommend it?

@stardust777 I returned mine - it felt like it’d fall apart quite easily and didn’t feel like that sort of raffia type basketry and a bit more papery if that makes sense.

To be fair I’m a bagaholic and it might just be that I was finding reasons not to add to my collection! 😬

Sitting on my hands not to order the £29 basket. I bought a lovely basket from Next of all places in the sale last year. V similar but no cover on the top of the basket. I use it every time I go shopping. I love it.

Thanks @Picoloangel - that's good news as I've been doing a lot of impulse buying lately! I won't click on the link for the £29 basket - trying to resist temptation until the next pay day.

Don't these things rough up the side of your clothes?

I got a henrietta spencer bag and used it all summer- it didn't cause any problems for my clothes @forevernumb

I caved and bought one. 😬 It’s lovely and I haven’t noticed any issues with my clothes from using a basket.
