So, Esprit (Europe) has apparently gone under, what is similar?

This was my go to online shop for clothes. I liked the huge variety and "simple" look of a lot of their things.

What other sites have a similar feel?

(There is a chance Esprit will sort out the Europe arm, which is what I'm hoping for!)

I haven tried anywhere yet. I was looking for an outfit for a specific occasion yesterday and discovered that the website was shut. Google tells me that the Europe arm of the business has gone under.

I live in Portugal and can access it ok, looks normal to me

I can't see it on their brands list. I wonder if it's disappeared from there.

The article says Germany and subsidiaries which I assumed meant Europe. The U.K. stuff was from Germany so that might be the problem rather than Europe in general.

On the Next website type Esprit in the search, not a huge selection but there's over 60 items in the women's category

That's bizarre. I'm in Ireland but everything is dispatched from Next UK anyway.
Item numbers are just below the price so you might be able to order in store. I can see that everything is reduced now.

This will be a Brexit thing then. And it means that these things don't actually come from the UK, they're in a warehouse somewhere in Europe, even if you're ordering them via a UK website.

I'm in France and I can order M&S stuff from M&S online because they have their post Brexit logistics sorted out. But on the M&S UK website you can get other brands like Hobbs, which you can't get ordering through the M&S France website. So I think that if you are buying from a shop which carries multiple brands, only some of those brands can be shipped between the UK and the EU.

You're seeing the Esprit stuff on the Next website because you're in Ireland and not the UK, and the stuff is in a warehouse somewhere in Germany.

That's my guess anyway.

The Esprit website is working fine for me here in France.

I also couldn't see anything on the Next site (I'm in the UK) but Zalando have a lot.

I've thought they were in trouble for a while due to the amount of discounts and flash sales they've been offering recently.

Ah... that's not the .co.uk site. So I am in a different reality to you 😂

I'm hoping they'll be back as it's not the whole company that's in trouble (yet).

Tbh the prices had gone up substantially. Jeans that were £40ish had become £80ish and the styling wasn't quite as good. Then they would do big discounting. I do think there is a Brexit connection with the higher prices.

I do like their middle of the road vibe though. Am hoping to visit a store in Europe this summer. La Redoute sells some Esprit stuff.
