If you are bored.. fancy helping me?

I need to find a dress to wear to the races for Ladies Day.

I like doing this for other people on here, so I thought if anyone was bored and fancied helping me?

Criteria:

Dark (black preferably, but not too fussy)
Short
Low Cut
Sexy
Funky

I know, sounds a bit for ladies day, but thats my style and if I wore a pretty floral number, it would look ridiculous.

Anyone?

Oh, I am a size 10 and a D cup, if that makes a difference.

Hi, have had an unexpected half day so am more than happy to give you a hand

I was trying to register for my new online banking but it seems i'm too thick to understand the process

Anyway, i recently treated myself to this dress. It looks and feels so lovely to wear!

Flier · 08/04/2008 14:14

Coast have a "races" section here

DirtySexyMummy · 08/04/2008 14:16

Thats lovely littleelf - too long for me though. I have great legs and so am looking for short..

I do like the coast ones, however I want something that (hopefully) noone else will be wearing, and I think they would be very popular...

hmmmm?

Disenchanted · 08/04/2008 14:19

too much..or less should i say?

DirtySexyMummy · 08/04/2008 14:20

Disenchanted - thats really nice.
I do really like it, but I think it would maybe be a bit shapeless? I tried on a dress recently that was similar and found it looked like a sack.. I think you have to be stick thin for those.

Isn't there a new rule this year about ladies dress code? For example, no hats or short revealing dresses? Or am i getting confused with something else

DirtySexyMummy · 08/04/2008 14:21

The second one is nicer, but I really hate the straps. Plus the material looked a bit cheap.. like the style better though!

i like this

DirtySexyMummy · 08/04/2008 14:21

No hats?! Really?

I don't know of any 'code', but should probably find out before shopping!

may I counsel against both short and low cut and suggest either one or the other?

did you not see the Daily Mail pics from Aintree?

Coast has a good range of lbds this season

TheLittleElf · 08/04/2008 14:23

There was something on the news about it last week - i just can't remember which racecourse they were referring to?

southeastastra · 08/04/2008 14:23

wear a nice shawl

Disenchanted · 08/04/2008 14:24

from asos

DirtySexyMummy · 08/04/2008 14:34

MrsBadger - Don't worry - I will be wearing thick, coloured tights (probably fuschia or purple) so its alright.. Plus, I honestly look about 19 so I can get away with it

I had a look at the coast ones earlier when flier posted the link, but like I said I think they are going to be too common.

That asos one is great disenchanted. You're great at this! I will keep it on the shortlist. I'm thinking something maybe, tutu-esqu? For my birthday night I wore a tutu and corset, quite burlesquey and it looked amazing. Was thinking something similar, but more classy (where that outfit was fine at Fabric , maybe not for the races!)

What do you all think of this?

OP posts:
casbie · 08/04/2008 14:40

Just make sure you don't look like a flamingo, with a dark dress and pink tights!

DirtySexyMummy · 08/04/2008 14:44

@ the thought of flamingo!

The ones I have are a very dark but bright pink, IYKWIM. I hope I won't look like a flamingo!

I love it

DirtySexyMummy · 08/04/2008 14:57

or one?

Very similar I know, but asos rather thatn ebay?

Flier · 08/04/2008 16:47

sorry, don't like that dress, think you could get something alot more classy.
You could try posting your question on this website

TillyScoutsmum · 08/04/2008 17:04

Oooh - I love that Oasis one... Its quite tutu esque as well ...

change from black ?

like this

DirtySexyMummy · 08/04/2008 17:22

Hmm.. yeah some of those are nice.

The thing is, they are all a bit plain, I wear quite funky clothes on normal days, so putting on one of those dresses I would just look a bit daft.

I dress kind of funky, quirky, I wear a lot of jewellery, kind of an electro, 80's sort of style.. See, why I am having a hard time finding something!

OP posts:
DirtySexyMummy · 08/04/2008 17:27

Oh, plus like I said I actually look about 19. Seriously. So fancier dresses tend to look a bit 'old' on me.

onefootinthegravy · 08/04/2008 17:42

So your a size 10, a D cup and you look about 19 ! Wear a bin liner you sound gorgeous!!!!
