I still look pregnant

Youngest is two, and I've never lost the'baby weight' so probably won't now. Used to be a size ten, now firmly a 12-14 (probably more 14) with a huge belly. Legs and arms still look fairly decent.

I don't actually hate my body now or anything, so zero interest in diet or exercise to change things. But I just feel very awkward a lot of the time as I do still look pregnant especially in dresses (I think a lot are empire cut which doesn't help).

What can I wear that will disguise my stomach? Work is smart casual, out of work I'm fairly casual because on the floor etc a lot with youngest DC.

Would love some inspiration, also feel like I haven't really bought clothes in about six years so am very out of style. I know I could do a personal shopper if I had time but some things to look at online would be great please.

Following this thread as I'm the same, although I'm more of 16-18 so quite a but bigger than you. I honestly look a good 6 months gone! And my youngest is also 2.

Solidarity! I genuinely don't mind my new size, it's just the shape really as I feel awkward a lot as I dread being asked/people assuming I'm on my way to having another! I'm happy with the weight gain really, just wish it was more even.

Why wouldn't you lose it now? Does the body hold on to it?

BlamBlamBlam · 18/06/2024 07:52

Any suggestions anyone?

I feel like I post this a lot, but it fits so well with what you r posted. Check out Cary's Whitaker on instagram she posts mid size fashion ideas for girls who have a rounder tummy. She looks fab! I get lots of ideas from her even though I'm older than her.

Great thanks will check her out.

I'm the same as you op, but about a 14/16. It's not just the baby weight with me (although that too of course). It's diastasis recti, from 4 pregnancies (with big babies). The most flattering dresses I have are 'fit and flare', whether stretchy material, or summery dresses from light cotton or viscose. Fitted on top, and slightly flarey, or even just drapey on the bottom half.

I have to say though, I've spent years wearing baggy things to cover up, and I've come to the realisation that they just make me look bigger than I am. More fitted things, even with a bit of a bump, look much better. I've had comments recently from people telling me I've lost weight. I haven't really, but I do look slimmer if I don't cover up as much. I'm trying to accept my non-baby, baby-bump as part of my story, and something my wonderful body has acheived, and not try to disguise it so much. If anyone asks me if I'm pregnant, I think I'll reply 'no, just the after effects of my previous babies!'.

Hmmm yeah maybe I might be similar, think it's an actual change in stomach muscles etc as well as the weight.

Will search up some fit and flare!
