WWYD? M&S petite trousers much shorter than another pair

I ordered a wide leg M&S trousers in their short length. It's my second pair, a different colour of the same model in a different size as well. They are 3.5 cm (so over an inch) shorter than my other pair! They are also 3.5 cm shorter than another pair of M&S petite trousers in the same size. I know this sounds silly but I cut off the label before noticing this! WWYD? I thought the short length is standardised across sizes AND models, but it seems to be quite random?

I’d take them back with the label and the other pair and explain. It should be obvious what’s happened and you’ll get a refund.

I like that some are shorter and actively seek out the shortest. But different styles are always different lengths to each other.

What about different sizes? I have now:

a) Pair A, one size larger, same model, 3.5 cm longer;
b) pair B, one size larger, different model, 3.5 cm longer;
c) pair C, same size, different model, 3.5 cm longer;

All the M&S short length trousers I have are much longer, so I wonder if this is expected?
I bought them online and I’m not in the UK.
