Leggings! Lululemon vs Sweaty Betty

Which is the better brand? I’m sick of spending money on ill fitting leggings that get ruined within a few wears. Nike quality has gone down spectacularly - even in their most expensive ranges. The thought of spending £100 on a pair of leggings pains me but I think I’m going to just have to bite the bullet and do it..!

Any other recommendations? Bonus points if (like me) you have a short waist. I find it so difficult to find leggings that are flattering yet not too high waisted

I like Sweaty Beatty but wait for the sales

TokyoSushi · 11/06/2024 15:48

Sweaty Betty but you can get them brand new with tags off Vinted for a fraction of the price.

LeeMiller · 11/06/2024 16:03

What are you using them for? I am very short waisted and I like sweaty Betty super sculpt (a bit thick for summer though), but wouldn’t purchase unless from vinted/in the sale. Other styles were not so flattering on me.

For something super soft and lightweight for yoga/Pilates I think you can’t beat Nike Zenvy or Lululemon Align (lululemon quality is also not what it was and bobbles more easily than it used to, I think Zenvy holds up better). Or CRZ butterluxe on Amazon for a fraction of the price is decent.

I like Gymshark and have a few different types. Wont pay for nike anymore and as OP said the quality isnt what they used to be.

Lululemon!

The crotch on SBs are always too low for me - I'm 5'7 - and the material always feels cheap to me

Verite1 · 11/06/2024 16:07

I like sweaty betty power leggings (never fall down and have pocket for phone)! But I wouldn’t buy full price. They always have some in sales or, at the very least an offer of 20% off.

Mainly use them for running & Pilates - I much prefer sculpted leggings so shall take a look at that Sweaty Betty range. Don’t think I could justify buying Nike again to be honest. My last pair were top of the range £70 ones and are well and truly ruined after a few wears. Splitting seams and already gone bobbly 🤦‍♀️

I have SB but my favourites are Fabletics. You can get the joining offer then cancel.

Poggishairtufts · 11/06/2024 16:13

Sweaty Betty power leggings either in the sale of from Brand Alley.

I give lululemon a body swerve as the founder is a racist bigot

Sweaty Betty do an exclusive range of leggings for their outlets for around £60 ( can’t really remember) so if there is an outlet near you or know someone who is visiting maybe ask them to investigate.

Don’t think I’d take the risk with outlets to be honest, they’re a bit of a false economy. There was a Panorama episode a few years ago exposing the lower quality of ranges specifically made to go there

Lululemon wundertrain for me. Sweaty Betty always slip down and the waistband rolls over.

HelenHywater · 11/06/2024 17:57

I've got Sweaty Betty power leggings that are still going strong from 2017, so I'd say them. I'm tall and they fit perfectly (although I'm long bodied/short legged).

I have one pair of lululemon wunder tights (I think they're called) and they feel lovely and soft but probably less high waisted and sculpting than the SB ones.

Roserunner · 11/06/2024 17:59

I have a pair of sweaty Betty's which I like but the zip bust on the pocket after having them less than a year which annoyed me a bit considering how expensive they are!

I mainly run in tikiboos, I have quite a few pairs now, some 8 years old and still look like new. They fit lovely and very flattering. They also have 20% off today.
