Who else got the Charlotte Tilbury email meant for internal people only?

Got it at 8am this morning with a huge INTERNAL/CONFIDENTIAL title on the front. Something about a new product. Anyone else get it?

Personally I think it was purposeful to have us all sign up to the early access link 🤔

Sounds like a PR stunt.

sixtyandsomething · 10/06/2024 11:03

sounds like a scam

Sounds like a PR stunt.

Definitely think so. Looks like a screenshot, no visible email addresses, and a link for early access that leads directly to the CT website

It’s kinda sad how obvious it is

As if it would have that written in the subject line if it was actually legit!
I don't open spam emails

Did it start with

Exactly this! It’s a legit email from the charlotte tilbury subscriber email but the whole thing is made to look like an accident when in reality, it’s trying to lure people in to signing up for early access purchasing

surprised they made it so obvious though - you’d think a higher end brand would have better marketing teams

Oh of course! With added emojis and CAPITALIZED WORDS for extra oomph!

Ugh.

StoneTheCrone · 10/06/2024 11:22

Urgh indeed.

I feel the same way about all the "Oops!" E-mails I get now. Just marketing shite that clogs up my in box.

stayathomer · 10/06/2024 12:21

I just always hope there’s not some employee at the end of this feeling sick because she made a mistake and might get fired from her dream job!!!

Could you imagine?! But no, the email itself is signed off as “Charlotte” herself

as if the founder of the company is the one overseeing the email chains

Closely following on from the oops we forgot to include half the products from their PR packages.

It's a way to get people talking about the brand and it works.

SnapdragonToadflax · 10/06/2024 15:10

The Charlotte Tilbury marketing (and her, TBH) massively puts me off Charlotte Tilbury products.

Aurora791 · 10/06/2024 15:44

It's a shame, i really love their products and as a motorsports fan was pleasantly surprised about their sponsorship of an F1 academy car (women only driver development series), but agree with a poster above that their marketing has left me feeling really uncomfortable. The faux 'darlings', puts me off, and the way that they presented themselves at the miami grand prix just didn't sit right. If the intent was to open participation, support women (and promote the brand of course), they could have done it so much better. There are so many incredible women in motorsports, in all sorts of roles, shapes and sizes that they could have used to promote their make-up. They could have leveraged this to demonstrate the different types of use and coverage that people in the professions want and need (such as more hard wearing, sweat proof etc. for the drivers, engineers etc.). Instead the media coverage was just the same old same old, giving goodie-bags to all the WAGs of the drivers (largely models/influencers), which is exactly the market they normally target. It all just came across as a bit 'mean girls', and not about opening up the market at all.

discountsandoffers · 10/06/2024 16:14

can you screen shot op?

allwiredup · 10/06/2024 16:29

Sorry meant to post this earlier but this is the email. Thing is the actual “email thread” is one big screenshot. You’d hardly screenshot and THEN forward an email thread 🙈

well it’s something a bit different i suppose 🤷

DoubIeLeopardy · 10/06/2024 16:34

Defo a marketing thing.

I've had this sort of "accidental" email before from several companies. Boring.

Sunnyandsilly · 10/06/2024 16:35

I think everyone got it. It’s a pr stunt, click on any of the images and it takes you to the waitlist; with is it real or unreal.

of course Charlotte tilbury isn’t emailing her team with a secret waitlist. Cmon now.

TemuSpecialBuy · 10/06/2024 16:40

This is so lame there are no words

she can keep her orange and brown make up…

Sunnyandsilly · 10/06/2024 16:36

This is what you get,

Reminds me of those spam emails about winning Nigerian lottery jackpots and having to send them £100k cash advance to someone's uncle to access the winnings😂

ScamanthaBrick · 10/06/2024 16:51

Wow that’s cringe!

Well Darrrling @Aurora791

I guess CT has a problem, they need everyone to buy their products but they need most of us to do that without tainting the brand by getting the wrong side of the camera. CT doesn’t want the photo ops with the racing drivers, mechanics, promotors who happen to be women, they want the attention of shiny people. They are selling aspiration not inspiration. It’s not about promoting women, it’s about promoting to women. It will always be a party most of us are not invited to (thank fuck).

I would love to be able to express surprise but it’s the same old vacuous stuff. As for the PR stunt email, it’s a bit pathetic. It’s almost as if they think we are all a bit stupid! Of course, CT isn’t the only company doing this cringey type of marketing but it is one of the most irritating. I’m the same as @SnapdragonToadflax the whole darling thing means I’ve long since removed myself from their email list.
