Vintage Cartier headscarf

My mum has recently moved into a care home and I've been sorting through her clothes. She has a vintage Cartier headscarf in the Cartier box with a certificate of authenticity. I guess it's maybe from the 70s or 80s. I suspect it's never been worn. It looks in pristine condition.

I've had a quick Google and can see they sell online for quite large sums of money. Any ideas how I could get it valued or who I could sell it to or through?

Has she asked you to sell it? Or do you have charge of her affairs? It may be, if she’s kept it unworn, that she’s been saving it to give to you. It seems a shame to sell it - unless she really needs the money.

An auction house that sells vintage / antique fashion would be able to help, Kerry Taylor Auctions in London, for example.

There's quite a lot on Vinted, I just had a quick look and they seem to range from £50 to about £150.

Thanks all. Mum has advanced dementia and Dad gave the scarf to me as otherwise it would have gone to the charity shop when we were sorting through her things. Mum was completely uninterested in fashion. I suspect someone gave the scarf to her 40 + years ago, she shoved it in the bottom of a cupboard and never gave it a second thought. It has absolutely no sentimental value to any of us, so I'm happy to sell it. Luckily, money is not an issue for my parents.

Thank you for the auction house recommendation. I've sent them pictures for a valuation.
