Barbour raincoat. Do I need to be talked out of it?

Saw this in a Dept store. Not my usual style but really love it.

Have never bought anything from Barbour in my life. Do I need to be talked out of this?

I like it a lot! I love Barbour - the coats I've bought have all lasted forever with good looking after.

I don't like it.

The arms look short and wide.
It'd look like I'd borrowed me dad's wax jacket.for the day...

(But if you like it, don't let anyone talk you out of it. I think Barbour are expensive but durable so you should get plenty of wear out of it... Even if you do look like a child in her dad's rain coat. 🤪)

I personally think there're odd bits to it but like anything if you like it get it, no one will care they have their own thing going on

I think that’s my worry 😂 I’m quite short and while I FELT like it made me really sophisticated and cool, possibly it makes me look like I’m five 😂

I just looked in the website and I think there's better options.. with cuffed sleeves..

That's what's putting me of the one you linked, the sleeves look odd, it don't look right on a beautiful, slim, professional model... I've no chance. 🤣

The Clyde, Macy or Davies
Sounds like a war era Politician..

It looks a weird shape, and it's showerproof, not waterproof, which would put me off.

I've never seen the point of a rain jacket. I'm not against Barbours at all, in fact I've got one but it's knee length.

I love Barbours but that’s a slightly funny shape. I’d go for the traditional one which looks great and is a flattering cut on most people (that’s assuming you only want showerproof. If you want a proper waterproof I’d look elsewhere.)

If you like it then get it, it will last as good quality.
Saying that, I personally don’t like it. It looks out of proportion & as a wet weather jacket won’t be very practical being so short, your thighs will get wet. It looks like they were trying to save money on material.

I agree about the showerproof thing.

To me the goal would be to find something that's waterproof and cool. I don't think this is it
