Struggling with mascara - what alternatives??? Dye them?

Rebusmyfire · 01/06/2024 10:50

As the post says I am struggling with mascara.
Even waterproof stuff slides down my face. Tried many brands I only ever put mascara on my top lashes and that ends up under my eyes..

Thinking about dying them??
How long does it last for?
Pros and cons..
Does it resolve not wearing mascara??

Have you tried tubing mascara? I think it's marvellous, it never smudges or moves about.

I had a lash lift and tint recently and while I loved the effect it's expensive and feels uncomfortable during application, or mine was at least.

Another vote for tubing mascara. I have Uber sensitive eyes and it's the only thing that stays put and doesn't irritate.

Rebusmyfire · 01/06/2024 11:01

What is tubing mascara?? And how do I get it?
(I'm not up on make-up, but you've probably sussed that out)

@Rebusmyfire , I don't like mascara either. If I wear it I use tubing mascara - it usually says on the packaging to remove it with warm water.

Thank you!

Will give this a whirl.

This one is better Snapscara® Washable Mascara - Clump Free Makeup - Maybelline

KirstenBlest · 01/06/2024 11:15

I haven't tried any other tubing ones.

For 'day' mascara, Body Shop ones are usually good.
Waterproof ones tend to crumble - I've tried allsorts including Chanel. All give me crumbs around my eyes.

I can't stand mascara either.LVL is good, just dyes them and lifts them and looks so natural.

KirstenBlest · 01/06/2024 12:21

What's LVL?

RookieMa · 01/06/2024 23:31

Make sure you apply pressed powder to your eyes before applying mascara

It's made made a massive difference to the staying power of pretty much all mascaras

Mmmmpavlova · 01/06/2024 23:38

100% tubing mascara! Clinique lash power is my go to tubing mascara, it's brilliant. The no7 one changed formula a while back and is not so good now in my experience

thelengthspeoplegoto · 01/06/2024 23:42

Sorry but, what is tubing mascara? What is LVL? I'm old, help me!

Nchanged89 · 01/06/2024 23:48

Another vote for tubing mascara.

WetBandits · 02/06/2024 01:02

Yet another vote for tubing mascara!

I use ‘Long Cara’ from Amazon, this is after 12 hours of wear.

What's LVL?

LVL means Length, Volume and Lift. They curl/ perm your eyelashes so they lift and then dye them ,the difference is amazing even on short lashes.

Maddy70 · 03/06/2024 13:27

Im loving the magnetic lashes from kiss. Use the magnetic eyeliner then snap on the lashes

KirstenBlest · 04/06/2024 08:43

Thanks @KobraChick

Rebusmyfire · 06/07/2024 08:45

Just an update to say I bought some tubing mascara and it stays on my lashes and doesn't move down my face.

Thank you!

Which one did you get?

Rebusmyfire · 06/07/2024 13:20

The NO.7 one.

Couldn't find others in the shops. All focused on making my lashes bigger - I just want it to stay on.
