I need some ideas and inspiration for home and new job.

I like wardrobe of a mid life crisis but couldn't carry off what she wears.

I also like Sali Hughes and Nicola Stephenson from Brookside on insta.

I'm size 14 and pushing 50, but not as old as that sounds 😁

Thanks

backofthewardrobe70 is great

CapaciousHag · 30/05/2024 12:55

pushing 50, but …

Bingo!

Could you not just follow people whose style you like and think you would wear? Do they really have to be a particular age / age range?

(I’m quite a bit older than you, like tailored clothes such as tweed jackets, and silk socks, so often find men’s outfitters quite inspiring because of the way they mix unexpected colours and fabrics together.)

Thank you both :)

There's a younger blogger called Lottie Drynan who I love, she's so joyful. She styles exclusively stretchy or loose 'bloat friendly' fashion. Most of it isn't really my style but her attitude is just brilliant - 'fuck flattering', just lovely pretty clothes you can move and breathe in.

I also follow Dayan Kole for thirty seconds of sheer bliss a day. Nowt to do with fashion, he's unspeakably hot and does skipping. Trust moi.

Like @BadlydoneHelen I follow backofthewardrobe as well and really like her style.
Erica_davies and Alexandra.stedman are also similar, I think all three have a similar style that I would describe as city casual chic (just made that up and probably completely wrong) which I really like but I'm such a short arse I can't always pull it off.

A bit more colourful and usually showing clothes from cheaper shops is mama loves_leopard - she's 5ft3 so better for me!

I also like inpolife and mystyle_ ideas

Following with interest. Totally irrelevant but the holding if the tiny mic and bobbing down REALLY pisses me off!!!

Grinchinlaws · 30/05/2024 16:05

Anna cascarina is 50 and a size 16 and gorgeous.

I love her style (I’m 37).

Melissa Murrell - mm styling & invest in style. I used to follow the others mentioned, but none really promote a cohesive capsule wardrobe. Plus they don't really dress like me. Lottie dresses like an accident in a clothes factory these days.

The last two often post together wearing the same outfits to show how they look on different sizes.
