I find it a bit depressing actually.

On the one hand we have the usual array of size 8s who probably maintain their low weight by smoking and not eating a lot and on the other hand to represent us "normal" people we have an attractive girl who is clearly quite a few pounds above the BMI healthy weight for her height.

I'd much rather see a bunch of healthy attractive size 12s than those two extremes, but chance would be a fine thing. Bit like Sophie Dahl, used to be overweight, was gorgeous and glowing and normal for a while, now is a gaunt skinny minny like the other celebs.

I don't believe she is only 12st 8 if she is 5'10.

I am 6' and was straight-up-and-down at 11 stone; I'm currently 15 stone, and although v large round the middle I don't look anywhere near that big

None of the other girls look underweight to me. I don't see whats so great about being overweight.

I think she's bigger than size 16. Hello came free with the paper today and although she looks lovely with her clothes on, and I admire her bravery, I do think she is probably size 18.

Maybe next year, girls who are sizze 12 will have the confidence to enter, becuase they'll realise that it's not fat. And it's only a beauty contest Iknow, but it's still good to challenge the notion that girls of 5 10" need to be size 8 or ten!

i hate the way tall girls who are size 12 are sometimes described as curvy!
