Fat freezing or fat dissolving injections *not lemon bottle!*

Hello would really appreciate some advice please. I have an extremely big spare tyre, it is the bane of my life. People think I am pregnant and have literally asked when I am due. It ruins my entire silhouette and makes me really self-conscious.
I quite rashly spent £500 (!!) on lemon bottle treatment earlier this year; luckily I only had to pay for the one session not 3 (also got it on my face and arms). It made literally no difference and I felt like a total fool for even thinking it would work.
I don't know if fat-freezing or fat-dissolving injections are also snake oil. Please, if you have tried them let me know does it work?? Or if there is any other treatment out there.
I exercise daily and my diet is good. So not that kind of advice more about treatment. Many thanks

If there was an easy solution... we would all be thin.

bossybloss · 30/05/2024 01:07

What is lemon bottle treatment ???

Quitelikeit · 30/05/2024 01:15

Vaser lipo will sort you out in no time. It’s a bit more than lemon bottle tho

i have seen good reviews of lemon bottle with under chin fat

QueenBitch666 · 30/05/2024 01:29

They don't work. Save your money for liposuction

NDmumoftwo · 30/05/2024 02:34

Injections - aqualyx - work

nomchonge1 · 30/05/2024 10:08

Fat freezing is a con - I did it and nothing. don't waste your money.
I suspect anything that can be administered by an non medical professional, is snake oil.
I also had Exilis and EmSculpt - what a nonsense. the amount i spent on it all I could have just had lipo!

Schwarzkopft · 30/05/2024 12:20

Thanks for all the answers. I was absolutely gutted with the lemon bottle. I had abdomen, face / jewels, thighs and arms done. Made zero difference. The beautician has rung me to book in 2nd and 3rd treatments but as PP has said, it feels like snake oil.

Thank you for letting me know... I feel like such a fool 😪 and too embarrassed to tell my friends.

Did you get it done? How many sessions / rounds did you need to have, if you don't mind me asking? Thanks

If these treatments worked, a lot more people would be getting them.

As far as I know, the only way to lose body fat is via calorie deficit (or liposuction).

It's like this new craze, all the beauticians round here are doing it, they draw little squares on you and inject it into you multiple times. It is supposed to dissolve fat and as PP said it is meant to be especially effective on jowels. But it made no difference to me. The aftercare is to drink lots of water and eat less fat and more vegetables. You need about 3 treatments but it is supposed to have visible results after the 1st treatment. I didn't notice anything different at all though.

Edited

I think that a lot of people are getting them but like me are too ashamed or embarrassed to say. Certainly where I live the beauty / aesthetics places are always booked up way in advance

Surely it would be better to adjust the diet and core fitness than risk what happened to Linda Evangelista?

Women pay a lot of money for non surgical treatments, and it mostly results in very little difference, apart from Botox and fillers, so subtle it’s not even noticeable! How many times have you seen before and after photos, where there is little or no discernible difference, yet it cost thousands! I think that if there are no results, they should refund the money or offer another, different treatment free of charge. These places get rich on the desperation of ageing women . RF, threads, micro needling, fat dissolving injections etc - they don’t live up to the hype, they are disappointing and can have irreversible, unfortunate side effects. The gold standard remains cosmetic surgery, if you really want to get rid of jowls, sagging necks etc.

How long have you had the spare tyre? Have you seen a GP? It could be a medical issue if you're generally slim but can't shift weight there. I don't want to jump to anything serious, it could be things like PCOS etc where you might benefit from a tablet.

I've had it for about 6 years, since my youngest was born. All the women are apple-shaped in my family. Am getting into peri-menopause and losing weight seems virtually impossible at this stage. Also how if you have fat round your middle it is a higher risk of stroke and heart disease etc. is worrying me. I appreciate your concern though 😊 x

@Bignanna that is a good point; I had microneedling and that didn't make much of a difference either 😪 my skin did look glowing for a few weeks but it didn't shift the fine lines like it was supposed to!

I don’t doubt that lots of people are getting these treatments, (because unfortunately there are a lot of insecure women about). That doesn’t mean they work though!

As there are no guarantees that some of these non surgical procedures will work, stating everyone is different as to how they respond, there is no comeback. They should offer a reduction on other procedures or give vouchers. They are taking all this money for nothing, and us for fools and it’s unregulated.

Yes that makes me really mad... "results may vary" 🙄🙄🙄 I am starting to feel very jaded by it all tbh

OP posts:

I think feeling jaded by it is a positive thing!

I lost interest in beauty treatments and products a long time ago. My life is happier (and my bank balance healthier) for it.

No, I don’t look young/fresh/glowing or whatever, but I don’t need to. I look my age but healthy. Thankful for that.
