Is anyone bored enough or kind enough to help me find a beautiful skirt?

I would like a new long skirt.
Ankle length (I'm 5'4")
Size 12 or 14.
High street prices - About £65 would be my maximum I think.

I'd like something summery, pretty, useful and wearable. Generally things catch my eye if they're a bit unusual or quirky.
I don't usually go for prints (though it's not a rule)
Colours that I like: Brown, turquoise, slub green, apple green, pink.

I tend to live in long skirts, and already have...
A dark petrol blue needle cord one with a kick flair.
A mushroom brown A-line with a-symetrical aplique in pinks, browns and greens.
A full, indian style turquoise one with a print.

PuhPeng · 05/04/2008 20:01

there's a really nice Africainy print one in Monsoon - I'll go & try to do a link!

brimfull · 05/04/2008 20:05

chocolateshoes · 05/04/2008 20:06

PuhPeng · 05/04/2008 20:08

That Masai skirt is lovely. Wonder if it would be long enough?

Hadn't thought of looking in East - looks like they have some nice skirts in too.

Off to browse...

punky fish is colourful!

chocolateshoes · 05/04/2008 20:14

I think its lovely & am thinking of buying it for myself - am, in fact, just in the middle of looking for a top to go with it. Its for a Christening & party afterwards. Any ideas?

fishie · 05/04/2008 20:15

have you tried noa noa? v difficult to find online so cannot link to anything useful. lovely heavy fabrics in muted colours. also all their skirts are hopeless shape on me as they are too long. could be ideal for you.

otherwise kew?

brimfull · 05/04/2008 20:15

laura ashley

chocolateshoes · 05/04/2008 20:29

oh dear! I've gone & bought that Monsoon skirt....that's the problem with online shopping!

PuhPeng · 05/04/2008 20:30

Oh Noa Noa - good thinking. There's a boutique shop near me that often has their stuff in. Will pop in.

I keep getting all excited and then realising that I'm looking at yet enother shin length skirt.

Punky Fish looks ace - never heard of them before.

Laura Ashley sometimes comes up trumps but not floating my boat skirt-wise this spring.

Will keep a look out for a top Choc.

How are you getting on PP?

aefondkiss · 05/04/2008 20:50

I like the punky fish link ggirl, I hadn't heard of it either.

PuhPeng · 05/04/2008 20:59

Struggling a bit Chocolate - partly because my sat night internet connection isn't up to much. Found a top yet?

ggirl - have you bought much from punky fish? Am unnerved by the 'one size' aspect of their skirts. In my experience when a cool, funky shop does 'one size' it's generally a teeny weeny size.

Any of these? Mostly quite plain.

JackieNo · 05/04/2008 21:05

How about this?
Too much pattern?
Not sure about this one
Probably not long enough
Definitely long enough, I think

PuhPeng · 06/04/2008 14:14
