My daughter is 12 with additional needs that make tying laces a problem. We need trainers with a velcro strip. She has big kids size 5 feet (wider rather than narrower). I can't find anything in her size. Can anyone help? I've been at this for ages and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Thank you.

If you filter by size and 'slip on' you will get loads of options on the sketchers website. Most do not have a Velcro strip though, just fake laces.

Go to their own website.

Or have a look at Ambrose Wilson.
They've got lots of size 5 wide trainers.

Nike and Adidas both have Velcro trainers in size 5 on their websites as well

Diechman(?) limited selection but good prices and loads of stock

Zalando - Skech Lite Pro. Fake laces though, no velcro

I think you’ll have to look for a different brand OP. Velcro sketchers only seem to go up to a size 3.5.
I have the opposite problem of needing trainers with laces for my daughter who wears an orthotic. They are only Velcro in the smaller sizes.
I like sketchers as they are long lasting and seem to be a wider fit. Sorry.

Adidas kids go up to size 5 with velcro.

Thanks so much for these suggestions - will follow them up!

Skechers Girl's Microspec... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07TYQD6R3?ref=ppxpoppmobappshare

My daughter is 10 with additional needs and wide feet, these have been perfect 👌

The Skechers hands free ones may work in a wide fitting? No laces or anything, just slip on.

M&M direct always have loads of Sketchers and often discounted xx

Just buy the plastic laces to go in any shoes she likes the look of.

Mine are plastic in straight lines (about six various sizes x2 in the pack so fit any foot) with a blob at each end that you tick through each eyelet in the shoes. From a distance they look like laces. But you don't untie them as they have give, just pull the shoes on.

She can get the save shoes as her pals. Just won't have to tie them.

I found some kids style ones on Vinted. DD has sensory issues and wanted more Skechers but not ‘boring adult ones’ despite being size 5 adult shoes. Found some that were barely worn.

Try M&m direct Smile
