Am treating myself to some new eyeshadow for a black tie do next weekend, but know I am likely to sink in to the same sorts of colours I always wear.I will be wearing a long black dress. I have brown hair, brown eyes, slightly olivey skin. Tell me what the most fab eye colour/combination of colours would be please

olivey green. perhaps.

ladette · 05/04/2008 19:04

yes, was thinking that (wore that for my wedding day!) Would you have one solid colour or a combination? Any other thoughts?

I have olive skin and very dark eyes and hair. I love wearing burnt gold colours on my eyes, or else sparkly green.

donnie · 05/04/2008 19:06

btw the ruby and millie ones are very good imo.

BBBee · 05/04/2008 19:06

green / gold - CD do a good one, so do tescos.

Have same colouring as you.

ladette · 05/04/2008 19:08

Thanks all. I normally wear brown/golds/olive green. Was just wondering if there was something different I should consider, but sounds like you're all saying that the colours I already like are the best (which is great!)

i've just got the new maybelline mascara that has two colours, gold and black, it makes quite a nice change.

donnie · 05/04/2008 19:11

I find other colours like purple, blue atc just don't look as good. How about some really fab false eyelashes though ? I wore some a while back for a do and they looked great!

TheFallenMadonna · 05/04/2008 19:12

I have a lovely dark green by bourjois, called noir emeraud.

I don't have olive skin though

cocolepew · 05/04/2008 19:13

I have brown hair/eyes. I got a Revlon trio with highlighter, gold and green. Very nice, they're even numbered so you know what goes where!

ladette · 05/04/2008 19:13

Donnie - have never used false eyelashes, would be worried I got it wrong and ended up with one on my cheek half way through the night! Are they easy to use?
Southeast - Love the sound of that mascara, had a similar virgin vie one a few years ago. Do you use the gold on top of the black>

thanks - will have a look at the revlon and bourjois colours you suggest.

cocolepew · 05/04/2008 19:14

ladette · 05/04/2008 19:15

southeastastra · 05/04/2008 19:15

yes put the black on as normal, then just highlight bits with the gold. you have to experiment a bit but i really like it, it's different. i have dark brown eyes too.

AdamAnt · 05/04/2008 19:24

How about a dark (navyish) blue? comme ca

donnie · 05/04/2008 19:36

falsies are a bit of a bugger but if you practice beforehand with the glue....anyway they look good if you want a bit of a different look!

might get some of that black and gold mascara now.

sophierosie · 05/04/2008 19:56

I'm the same colouring and often go for silvers and dark grey/black smoky eyes which I think looks nice!

ladette · 05/04/2008 23:50

mmm, am thinking that the silver/dark grey smokey look might be good with the black dress sophierosie? Wouldn't have chosen navy, BUT worth trying it out in a shop - the pictures look great AdamAnt (tho that model would look great in anything, I don't have that privilege!) Thanks all
