Can I wear a sequin down to a summer wedding?

I'm attending an Indian wedding in July. Would it be acceptable to wear a navy or teal flowy long sleeve long length sequin dress to the evening part or would it look a bit NYE for a summer wedding?

Apologies I should have clarified, but this isn't the actual dress. I couldn't find a photo of it.

One dress has a high neck and the other has a v-neck (not too deep). Neither have slits in them.

I'm more concerned about the darker colour and the sequins being too NYE rather than appropriate for July.

Would I look out of place?

No that’s fine - as everyone changes in between plenty of people will be in black etc, plus people tend towards the dressier side (Indian here!)

In my mind, sequins are more appropriate for Christmas or new year than summer.

No they sound perfect ... never have enough sequins at an Indian wedding .

I'd probably wear some gold / silver bold earrings to lift the darker colour if you're concerned... but honestly no one will bat an eyelid !

Thanks ladies this is making me a little more comfortable with the idea. The bride and groom are having a small civil ceremony in the registrars office and then the Indian wedding and reception another day and evening.

I have lots of dresses so will choose something more subtle for the day (I'm thinking the same type of dress I'd wear to a regular English wedding) for the day time and then the sequin one for the evening.

I've got something very similar to the teal dress below except it's not a wrap style. Probably closer to the light blue in length though. I'd go for some silver blingy earrings and high silver heeled sandals.

Would that still be acceptable?

Is it even possible to be OTT at an Indian wedding? I've been to two and they were both colourful, bedazzled affairs. Whatever you choose, make sure there's a little give as the food will be fantastic!
