Help me to understand eyebrow and lash tinting

Hi wise women,

After going grey my eyebrows are almost invisible and lashes are thinning. I can't get mascara to stay on so am thinking good tinting both. Am confused though

Local Superdrug does eyebrow tinting for about £20 but local recommended salon is £270😮. Surely this can't be the same thing?

Please can someone explain to me the eyebrow and lash timing options ? I'm after natural shape with a bit of colour , not the big sluggy things 😬

I've tried googling but frankly ended up more confused - tinting /dyeing / semi permanent makeup 😉 are they all the same ?

Thanks everyone.

Tinting is just dying the eyebrow hairs and is about £10-20.
Semi permanent make up is tattooing them on which is much more expensive.
Try having them tinted first and see how you feel. They will feel dark at first but they fade.

£270? I think that’s probably the micro blading and you are confused. Lash and brow dye should be about £20/£30 quid.

£270 would be for microblading or similar which is semi permanent. You can tint your own which I do but used to get them done in a salon. If you’re not confident with what you want I’d get a tint and shape as it’s the more subtle option.

Aaah. So micro blading is the tattoo thing?

That make sense.

Thankyou all so much 😄

Only tint at home if you’re very confident with the placement, otherwise you’ll end up with a lot of staining and a couple of slugs!
If you have microblading or powder brows the greys will still show through so you’ll still need a tint but you’ll have a better shape to follow. Invest in a good brush to place the tint if you’re going to have a go yourself.

Conversely I think that eye brow tinting at home is pretty easy! The brand I use you can put on for the minimum recommended amount of time (something like 1 minute) and then if it's not "taken" you can reapply until you are happy with the result.
