HoxtonChick - were you serious about educating me in the fine art of handbag buying?

I really need to buy a new one if you fancy going shopping. Or I could draw up a list of essential characteristics and you could point me in the right direction online if your prefer. Otherwise I'm probably just going to buy another plain Radley from the limited stock at Canary Wharf Waitrose (would that really be so bad?).

Bump again - you can say that you don't fancy it and I won't mind.

oooh hello bran! would love to take you handbag shopping . are you around next week at all? i am free (& child free) monday from about 11, or thursday until lunchtime.

bran · 07/04/2008 23:09

Fab! Whenever suits you best is fine by me, ds is back at school from 10th (Thursday). Probably Thursday next week would be best for me as I could drop him and continue straight on to meet you. His school is very near the Jubilee line if we are going to the West end.

Should I start drawing up a list of requirements?

  1. must make me look a normal BMI in front of a panel of strangers,
  2. must not make me look like a fashion victim,
  3. must have anti-gravity mechanism so it can hold books/toys/money/tissues/kitchen sink but still be light-weight,
  4. must come with integral body-guard to repel pick-pockets

I'm slightly worried that you will force me to buy a huge thing with a million buckles hanging off it, you won't will you?

marvellous! will put my thinking hat on. do we have a rough budget?

bran · 07/04/2008 23:21

Ummm, over £100 is perfectly ok, over £200 is ok-ish (but I'd better love it more than dh), over £300 is probably too much (unless I love it more than dh and ds, and that's unlikely considering it's just lump of cowhide).

Yes, 17th. I'll email you (prob tomorrow evening as I'm helping my Mum empty her kitchen cabinets tomorrow morning and then flying back to London) and firm up times/location etc.
