Dress for 5 foot nothing shorty shanks

Are there any dresses out there that don’t drown any of us shorties?
On a recent trawl round a shopping centre in different shops every dress I held up against me trailed the floor. I could shorten them but just an added chore.

Watching with interest as I'm 5'3" and the maxi and midi dresses drown me. I need a short sleeve shirt dress not too long.

Yes, it’s a shirt dress I’m looking for too. Recently ordered one from House of Bruar that looked great on the model. Right size 14, but the hem trailed the floor & the shoulder seams were half way down to the elbows causing a batwing effect under the arms & sleeves six inches below my fingers. Perfect fit across the chest so no good getting smaller.

Can I join too ? Looking for a dress for son’s graduation that doesn’t swamp me. I am not really a dress person so want to love it but there’s lots of choice but not much choice iyswim . I quite like a khaki linen one I think it was Jigsaw but wanted a more fitted one really.

Don’t know if any of these dresses / brands might be of use to anyone?

I'm 5ft too. I have a few dresses that didn't need shortening (one from Next, a couple from Phase 8 amongst others) but I have accepted that most dresses and jumpsuits will have to go to the tailor in the dry cleaners to be altered. Not just the length but quite often the sleeves or shoulder straps.

How about one of these - the Ralph Lauren floral is just knee length on me at 5 1 and the stripe just below the knee

I only buy from petit ranges now, I’m five feet one not just because of the length but the sleeves, the neckline etc.
