Pregnant and need dress advice for smart wedding please

I am going to a smart wedding in July when I will be 27 weeks pregnant with my first baby. Please help me find a dress to wear. I would like to look chic and elegant and not like a ship in full sail.

I am dress size 16 and 5ft 8in, with light brown, slightly reddish hair. I don't like high necks as I am big breasted, and I am looking for midi length. My absolute maximum budget is £100 as we are saving every penny for when I am on maternity leave.

Help please.

I think this would be really flattering and bump friendly. They have it in a pale greeny blue colour as well.

Seraphine would be my first stop - see what shapes you like on their website and then look on Vinted or Facebook groups, it’s exactly the kind of thing that’s worn once to a wedding then sold on in perfect condition for a fraction of the price!

Some lovely ideas there thank you - Seraphine seems very popular and I like the suggestion of looking for their clothes on Vinted, etc

I went to a formal / traditional wedding at 30 weeks pregnant - I ordered a few very pretty occasion dresses from ASOS - most were reduced. I kept 2, one for the wedding and one for the baby shower - then sold them both on Vinted a few weeks later to recoup some of the cost (even if I get pregnant again, I’d never re-wear). I’d recommend at least trying a couple from a “real” shop so you know what size / fit you need, as you won’t be able to return if you buy from vinted and it’s no use - you don’t want to spend more than you have to!

I’m afraid there’s no hiding being larger - something I’ve struggled with tbh - but you will look beautiful and pregnant and will get no end of compliments xx

P.s. I didn’t end up changing into them in the end but I’d definitely recommend taking a small pair flats / flip flops for your tired / hot feet. My wedding was March so wasn’t too hot weather wise but I’d imagine July will be another story!

That sounds like excellent advice. Thank you.
