Would this hair be a lot of work?

My hair is currently long with long layers. I’m in my 40s, oval face.

I wondered about going quite a bit shorter with a sweepy side fringe, like the picture. But will this be a lot of work to style? I’m always a bit nervous of basing a cut on a picture as pictures always show it perfectly styled whereas real life is not like that.

It was for me. I’d wake up with a ‘there’s something about Mary’ fringe which I’d then have to tame, and any hint of dampness-either rain or humidity-and that lovely side fringe would look like a 6 year who’d tried to cut her own fringe.

That would be flopping into your face and you'd be constantly flicking it away unless you Teflon coated it with a lot of hairspray to keep it in place.
