Summer business footwear

What do you wear on your feet for top business meetings in the summer or a heatwave?

I have a meeting at a very old, professional institute next month. If the weather is hot I have a lovely fit and flare, below knee linen dress I could wear. I assume sandals would be frowned upon? Would slingback shoes be ok do you think?

Or should I just completely cover my feet?

I don’t see any problem at all with them, I’ve worn similar shoes during summer when I was working in a corporate office in London.
