Talk to me about faux nails!

Going to a wedding very soon. I want nice nails! Mine are rubbish.

I'm older (60); I used to have acrylic nails 20 years ago but then I worked in healthcare where you can't have false nails.

What I'd like are shortish, natural looking nails, which I can have done, enjoy for a fortnight, then get removed. I can't be bothered with the faff of fillers as they grow out, or the cost.

What do I need?

I’m not an expert as I’m lucky with my nails, but stick-on nails have really come on. Kat Farmer on instagram always wears them and they look so good.

Thanks, can you do a specific link?

I've used stick on nails with reasonable effect way in the past, too.
I'd be interested in developments!

I've used what is effectively double sided sticky tape, and done nail glue.

Obvs the nail glue is better but it does seem to make a mess of your real nails when you acetone them off.

The ones Kat Farmer rates (she just did an Insta story about them the other day) are Meamora ones. I haven't tried them but she loves them. Not expensive so worth a try.

Look at Holy Grail nails. They do loads of lovely ones, are well priced and deliver quickly. I have a referral code which will give us both money off if you’d like to give them a try

BIAB is what you want, with a gel colour on top. I got lovely biab done for my brother's wedding a few weeks ago, it lasted about 4 weeks before removing due to regrowth.

The key is a good nail technician that uses quality products - The Gel Bottle brand is the best one, other builder gels are not as good as real BIAB.

Just Google BIAB short nails for ideas.

Nail stickers are also an option. Easy to put on and remove.

Thanks, all!

I used to get acrylics with gel polish covering. I seem to be quite hard on my hands and anything else chips off really easy. They look natural but long. Obviously quite thick if you see them from a certain angle but I don't think people would see.
