Wear the damn shorts

Right, so I am a long term shorts avoider due to my legs, but I need some exercise shorts as I’m just getting too hot in leggings.

Can anyone recommend some really flattering comfy sports shorts?

I have short legs and large thighs (hence the shorts avoidance). Cycling shorts cut in. Really short shorts ride up. Knee length shorts make me look even stumpier.

I thought these ones looked good i theory (but pricey) but several reviews say they ride up…

Any recommendations very welcome please

I wear £4 cycling shorts from Decathlon and don’t look in the mirror.

As another poster said, I size up in shorts and Skorts. Look for ones with a drawstring at the waist, if you are worried about them slipping. I like the shorts that have inner pants for modesty, rather than cycling shorts. Tikiboo has done these in the past, as has Sweaty Betty. The former usually features draw strings in their bottoms.

I like men's Nike yoga shorts (the baggy ones) they are super comfy and have functional pockets.

I think I am your leg twin too, OP. Have always avoided running shorts as too self conscious about my massive thighs. But have decided not to care now as don't want to spend another summer overheating in long leggings.
I went to a proper running shop yesterday (Up and Running) and ended up buying some Montane Ineo Lite shorts. Expensive but surprisingly flattering. And comfy.

Actually I have found some ok non-running shorts - from Joules a couple of years back. It’s the exercise shorts I need.

Planning to get myself onto sports/running gear websites and order a whole bunch to try. Will report back.

Mine are from decathlon and really good; I find their items really considered. Def check out their website but if you’re ordering online size up as they are small fitting.

I have some from decathlon which are teeny!! But yes they are broadly the right style, if rather on the short side. Maybe I need to look again but size up.

Fabletics cycling shorts. They have powerhold ones which are thick not see through and hold u in. Also can get ones with pockets on the side for your phone as well as hidden internal pockets for keys etc.
