I’m looking for something that doesn’t pill, leaves me with nice glowy skin. I’ve combination skin that can be dehydrated. Everything seems toI matt or too oily or pills. Happy to spend for the right one…

thanks!

I've repurchased Beauty of Joseon multiple times, it's a Korean skincare brand and you can buy online from various UK sites for around ÂŁ16.

However, I've just tried Garnier's Vitamin C SPF50 and am actually reaching for it more often than the BoJ one! It's a bit thicker but sinks in incredibly well. Also only around ÂŁ9 on offer at the moment.

I've also bought the new No7 one with a ÂŁ10 off coupon (so around ÂŁ16) just because it felt so light when I tested on my hand. Finally also not tested myself, but my friend loves the Garnier Invisible serum or similar? It's on my list to try.

BTW I've dehydrated skin myself, possibly more normal than combo usually though.

Forgot to say the two that I've tried don't pill on me nor sting my eyes (which can be quite sensitive).

I also like the Garnier one, I think I have the anti-drying one. It comes in a cardboard-ish tube which is cool too

suburburban · 10/05/2024 19:22

Boots N07 one is very good

I tend to use it over make up

I would ideally like a skin tint with SPF instead but trouble is they may make me look tangoed

I have tried them all. I’ve spent absolute fortunes on different brands but my current favourite is cheap as chips! Nivea Anti Dark Spot factor 50. Goes on well, doesn’t pill, protects my skin, no horrid smell and is around £11.

Hawaiian tropic face sunscreen for me, only one I’ve found that doesn’t make me shiny, oily and spotty.

Ultrasun face 30. I have v dry skin. Sinks in perfectly. Leaves skin looking so good I’ve considered using it when not sunny. It’s a proper holiday sunscreen not just a day cream with an spf. There is a face factor 50 but I haven’t tried it.

This Bioré one was recommended in The Times a few weekends ago as being super lightweight, a great moisturiser and sits well beneath make up. I use it as daily moisturiser and it’s great.

Some By Mi V10 Hyal antioxidant sunscreen. Also a Korean brand but quite readily available. It's a light gel formula that is absorbed instantly. Very light on the skin and not drying at all. Smells slightly citrus which is quite pleasant. Best facial sunscreen I've ever used.

Altruist face fluid - you can get on Amazon for a tenner. Super glow, no stinging eyes, sits wonderfully under make up

redfacebigdisgrace · 10/05/2024 22:37

Brilliant - thanks everyone! I will investigate . I think I’ve got the Nivea one but I’ll check the others out. I’ll report back.

Second this, Hawaiian Tropic is great. Good packaging too, sinks in well, moisturising and no pilling or clogging.

I’ve tried the Superdrug Biore watery essence linked up thread and I’m not a fan. It’s got a white cast and makes my skin itch. It’s a different product to the one I’ve had before.

Heliocare! Gold standard In protection and offers a great range wether you're oily/dry etc

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 10/05/2024 22:44

I like ultrasun and Eucerin

Blinky21 · 10/05/2024 22:46

The Lancaster face one is my favorite and I've tried lots

I love Altruist products!
I use their regular SPF50 on my face. No stinging, absorbs well and no piling. Also reasonably priced.

I like the Glossier one. And I've tried a Roche Posay one - B5 - that's good too.
