if you want to look like a governess in a 1950s children's book then this is the dress for you

oh and by the way, if you're flogging a size 12, don't tighten the elastic round the forearm to size 6 proportions it hurts

Hmm... methinks you may not be the first to utter your dismay, judging by the HUGE price reduction they are giving on that item.

Looks lovely in the photo though - shame it disappoints in reality.

The nauseating Boden commentaries really crack me up sometimes...'daytime soirees?' - I'd like to see the pedants corner see that one!!

Cappuccino · 03/04/2008 09:49

ha ha yes 'daytime soirees' hadn't noticed that

you notice that 'touch of velvet' is pushing it a bit as soon as you get it out the wrapping

It does look lovely in teh picture

Cappuccino · 03/04/2008 09:51

well it's not

it is mumsy

it was my first Boden order and I was Not Happy

Cappuccino · 03/04/2008 09:52

actually having said that it might be fine

if you are very tall and very thin and constantly stand on one leg like the woman in the picture

OP posts:
BetteNoir · 03/04/2008 09:53

That sort of narrows it down to those ballerinas in musical jewellery boxes though.

I think Johnnie should have pointed that out in the blurb.

noddyholder · 03/04/2008 09:57

Agree you would need to be slim and tall then it would look good with nice boots

Cappuccino · 03/04/2008 09:57

lol

yes and this dress is for 2-dimensional people

Cappuccino · 03/04/2008 10:16

Now you see, this is EXACTLY why I changed my mn name. Sassy was cute/ballsy/cool - but waaaay too Boden. Now I shove hands in pockets, hunch over and look moody

TheHonEnid · 03/04/2008 10:19

lolol

TheHonEnid · 03/04/2008 10:20
