Liz Earle products - opinions please

I'm early 40's with fine lines and dry skin. I love a thick almost greasy moisturiser.

I've heard good things about Liz Earle products, but would appreciate some first hand opinions from anyone who's tried their products.

I managed to get a sample of the new Superskin Advanced Cream and the Skin Repair Super Rich Cream. I've used each once and they seemed ok, although the Superskin Advanced had a strange cooling effect on my skin - particularly around my eyes for 20 mins or so which I'm not sure is normal?

Neither creams were as greasy as I'm used to, but maybe that's a good thing?

Has anyone used these products? Or any of the Liz Earle range? I'd love to hear your thoughts or recommendations for any thing that might be better? There's so many creams on the market I don't know where to start!

It’s nothing groundbreaking and in my opinion not worth the price tag - from someone who used to religiously use it!

AubreysMonkey · 05/05/2024 21:18

I use the glow range (pink bottles, rather than green) I've used it for a couple of years now and bloody love it.

Cleanse and Polish makes a difference for me but we all have different skin requirements

I agree, formula changed when they sold to Avon and nowhere near as good now and far too expensive.

I love the smell of it (pale green hot cloth cleaner, toner and moisturiser) and the colour of the packaging matches my bedroom beautifully Blush

When i feel like treating myself i buy it and enjoy it all but in all honesty my skin doesn't look or feel any different to the phases when i do the bare minimum with my usual random budget products.

I don't know if that means my skins just really good or that LE is crap .... ?

Lucysllama · 05/05/2024 22:28

I hated it. Skin went red, dry and flakey. Others rave about it though.

JobMatch3000 · 05/05/2024 22:35

Try the LE dupes from Aldi.

Love it, amazing products! I really like the holistic vibe & all the plant extracts. Packaging is gorgeous. Did I mention products smell great as well?!

MicrosuctionAgsin · 05/05/2024 22:55

I like the Cleanse and Polish too, and it smells lovely. I don't really buy expensive skincare other than this.

suki1964 · 05/05/2024 23:29

I used to swear by the cleanse and polish in my 30's/40's but now a lot older I need more

I now spend a lot less on a hot cloth cleanser, superdrugs is good enough and I use a balm at night and now use serums more

hattie43 · 05/05/2024 23:40

Cleanse and polish is my go to cleanser , I've used others but always come back to C & P.
Super skin is nice too .
I like they aren't tested on animals so have used the range a long time .

lougher · 06/05/2024 07:40

I'm not a big fan, but my mum loves it. She's a massive fan of cleanse and polish, her skin is good for someone in their 60s.
The one product I do like is skin paste, used a couple of nights ago week as a night cream, it is really moisturising.

Beamur · 06/05/2024 07:42

The hand cream is really lovely but I haven't used the face products

Bigpaintinglittlepainting · 06/05/2024 07:45

Liz Earle is lovely to use and can be hydrating but you probably need a tret or acid first so that it sinks in properly

xSideshowAuntSallyx · 06/05/2024 07:47

It's not as good as it used to be and is expensive.

I now use Aldi's hot cloth cleanser which is exactly like Liz Earle's original hot cloth cleanser and a fraction of the price.

I used to use their Light moisturiser but they discontinued it and introduced something else which I didn't like.

DustyLee123 · 06/05/2024 07:49

I like the Superskin products, and I disagree that the ALDI C&P is the same. It might be a similar product, but it’s not the same.

MicrosuctionAgsin · 06/05/2024 07:51

I tried the Aldi dupe of C&P, but didn't like it.

And I don't want to use tret / acids / whatever on my skin.

oh is that what's happened? I tried the cleanse and polish the other day after years of not buying it and it felt completely different, cheap and left a film on my face. Shame because the old formula really cleared up my skin.

MacavitytheMystery · 07/05/2024 10:04

it used to be a lot better before it was sold. I don't think the quality is the same now.
