I have a pair of Gap jeans I'd ordered from Next in Nov 2022, not worn them loads but they are comfy and fit well so thought I'd get another pair. Typed in the product number on Next website, still there, look identical, order the same size 29 L.
When they arrived they are identical style (same labels inside, same SKU, everything) but about an inch narrower on the waist and far longer on the legs! See photos - old pair are underneath and new pair on top.
So pissed off as they just casually change the sizes like this while calling them the same thing. I've paid £4.95 for the privilege of having these posted and will have to pay return fees. What do I even do - assume that a 30 R will fit?
On a different level it just shows how hard it is to buy clothes that fit when the sizing is so arbitrary.
Incidentally I'm not at all tall, I'm average height and the only reason I'd ordered Long in the first place is because I'd ALREADY ordered two pairs of 29 R a few months before my original order and they were weirdly too short, which has never happened with jeans before. So perhaps they're overcorrecting but that doesn't help.
