Wide leg black trousers for tallish size 16?

I'd love any comfy/smart black trouser recommendations - not skinny leg, I have had my fill of those. I want a wide leg or a barrel leg, with a stylish waistband or flat front so I can wear tucked in tops, so not drawstring/joggers. But I do want comfy.

I already have stuff like this: https://www.shopstyle.co.uk/g/women/cos/milano-knit-trousers/952968014 as well as Hush Amie/Alexa etc but I need something smarter and not jersey. Would be happy with wool, cord, even velvet.

I tried the Beyond Nine cupro Mabel but they weren't long enough and the waistband was too obviously elasticated.

I'm early 40s, 5'10 and although a size 16 I'm quite athletic (I lift weights a lot) so aiming to look "statuesque", but don't want to make my tummy/bum/hips look even wider than they are.

Usual go-to brands are COS, Arket, LF Markey etc. Whistles used to be good for trousers but haven't been in one in years...?

Thanks @CampervanKween they look really promising. Can I ask how tall you are?

I'm 5 foot 7 but I have long legs and a short body. These are the perfect length on me.

I’ve got similar Saint & Sofia trousers to the poster above. I’m 5’ 9” and they fit really well. Lovely quality fabric and they hang really nicely and v.flattering … I hope.

They do hang beautifully and flatteringly I think too. Lovely material.
