Swim suit for big thighs

So… I started to use our local gym & swimming pool. However, it’s very popular with the school mums! I’m so self conscious because I have really jiggly and cellulite ridden legs (think lipoedema kind) and the majority of the mums that I know are very sporty with nearly perfect figures 😭anyways, it’s obviously my insecurity… please can you recommend some swimwear that won’t make me look like a hippo in tutu? Thanks 🙏

Saying this in the kindest possible way, most of the other people in the pool will have their own worries in their head rather than focussing on you.

I'm also a big/heavy person and have recently taken to wearing a high-waisted bikini because it's way more comfortable. I go swimming twice per week and have never noticed anyone giving me the side eye. Good luck to them if they did.

I have a swimsuit from Slazenger which have legs like shorts.

I think Speedo do the same and a range of other brands.

Or a lot of high street shops have really lovely swimsuits with swim skirts?

I've edited a couple of times and dunno why link has went weird sorry.

I have similar thighs. I wear a low cut leg - because I don't remove my hair but don't want it sprouting out of my cossie (hypocritical? Possibly!!!)

I find the boy/ shorts style legs make me look worse and kind of stumpy.

You can get swimming leggings but I'm not sure if that would bring more attention.

I honestly think nobody notices. I notice people who spray deodorant before getting in - that's it.

Also well done on getting active @SnowBall86 - I have just been reading that swimming can help lymphatic drainage. Not sure how effective it can be but you never know.

That’s true, I know people mind their own business & I don’t remember what anyone else looks like!

thank you for the suggestion @PumpkinSpicedTea! I always wondered if shorts ride up when you swim?

thanks @stilldumdedumming ☺️ fingers crossed I get some of my pre-kids confidence back. It’s also nice to have some time to yourself! I think low cut is what I’m going to go for. Might no size bigger and see if it’s more comfortable 🤔

oh this is lovely @Meredusoleil! I have something quite similar now and unfortunately it’s not enough coverage for me 🙈

I have generous thighs and boyleg styles are not the answer, they cut across at just the wrong point so either cut in or roll up and make my legs look even shorter.

You can get swimming cycling shorts or skirts but I think they kind of draw attention to the issue

I would go for styles that draw attention to your top half rather than trying to cover up legs. Something with an interesting neckline or decoration up top. Wide straps also help balance wide thighs.

I honestly cant recommend Asda swimsuits highly enough. They're always flattering, a good length, and keep my big boobs in place. I have the crossover style and also a more basic strappy one and love both

Edited

If the issue is thighs I think boy leg bottoms can make them look even worse. Makes them look shorter imo

@PansyP thanks to your recommendation above I'm now looking at the Asda swimsuits. I too am large of bosom and I'm wondering if they have bust shelf support or similar? Without that my boobs will just migrate towards my navel which is not a great look
