Are GHD's still the best hair straighteners?

It's 10 years since I trod on mine and I never replaced them, just stopped straightening my hair.

But it's now quite frizzy and so I'd like to get some straighteners just to cut down the frizz.

Must I spend £130? Is there no other really good brand of straighteners out there?

Cloud 9 are the best, but they’re not cheap either.

I love cloud 9. But I'm really wanting to try Tymo

I only used my straighteners to iron the top layer of frizz and they needed replacing. Instead I've brought one of those big hair curler drier things and I'm in love. Better for my hair and a better finish in half the time.

My GHDs gave up in about 2014, and the pair I bought to replace them were awful. I switched to Cloud Nine back then and have stuck with them ever since (I replaced them in 2022, so got 8 years out of the first pair). Friends who use my Cloud Nines have mentioned preferring them over their GHDs.

I have GHD but I don't feel like they are as good as they used to be

I've had my GHDs for 15 years still going strong. Love them. But, I don't have really thick/curly hair or anything.

ScreamingBeans · 28/04/2024 15:12

What make of big hair curler dryer thing do you have @daffodilandtulip ? I've been looking at those as well, but not sure if they would be good for frizz?

Just a cheap brand from Amazon, Sawop. Cost under £30. I was very pleasantly surprised.

My hair is 2b, blonde, dry, frizzy. I honestly get a better result than with straighteners, and feels much less damaging.

I am really pleased with my ghd platinums.
