Vintage / Retro clothes for tall ladies!

I'd love to find dresses in tall sizes that are 40s, 50s or 60s era style.

I'm 5 ft 10 and would like to get an A line style dress at knee length in 40s or 50s.

60s style may be a bit harder I guess but would be interested to hear any recommendations or suggestions?

Sorry but I think you are going to need to look at vintage clothes patterns and adapting them for a taller body

I'm 5ft 9 and have never found any vintage dress that fits me

But there are a lot of vintage patterns out there - you need to look by measurements, not dress size as they have changed
At 5ft 10 I imagine you'll need to increase bodice length as well as leg/skirt length

Here's an example

this pattern from eBay would be fab in a drill cotton

If you can't/dont sew then a dress maker might be an option

I'm also tall and never had a vintage specific issue. You just need to go to vintage and charity shops and try things on. Same as modern shops - not everything is long enough!

Try Collectif. I love their clothes.

Thank you! An option I hadn't thought of but would be the perfect solution.

There are more dressmakers about now than 20 years ago. It's becoming asker to find one. But, yes, that would be my suggestion too. It's a revelation finally having clothes that fit really well.

Yes this is true! I have a nice vintage midi skirt which is midi on me but maybe was meant to be maxi 😂 but it works.

I love the look of their clothes but not sure on length on the dresses anyway.

Sounds like I need to get the measuring tape out 😂
