Victoria Beckham x Mango

What is everyone’s verdict?

I only really like one or two things such as the knitted polo and the lilac dress (now sold out).

I am a curvy size 10-12 and don’t think this range would suit a curvier woman at all however. Such a shame!

Nothing is designed for larger than an a cup and will only suit a size 6 ... well the polo shirt is ok but the large is actually a small

I wouldn't buy from a collection that doesn't cater for women size 14 or above.
Never. Nothing in that collection is worth being size-ist.

How bizarre

Not all businesses or collections are aimed at all sizes. Evans or Yours for example dont do clothes in a size 8 or 10.

Why is that a problem?

Moonshine5 · 25/04/2024 22:12

Because those are specialist shops.
But you already know that.
Free country spend where you like@soupfiend just own it

They're all so boring and small cut. And expensive for Mango - shows what sticking a name on it does for the prices.

OneFrenchEgg · 25/04/2024 22:30

Oh it looks like my 90s uni clothes (the dresses) . Even in the photos the fabric looks cheap. If I'd had to design a 'what would VB do for a high street range' it would be very similar to this 😀

Own what?

All shops are aimed at particular demographics, thats the point of them.

Evans and Yours arent 'specialist', they're just shops that have a set of size ranges, same as this shop.

I’m a size 6 and many mainstream retailers places don’t have clothes that fit me, they only have larger sizes. Do you refuse to buy from them too?

I am also short and many places don’t have clothes that fit short people. Do you boycott them too?

But at least you can buy larger sizes from Zara whatever the label says.
VB Label does not have the choice and what does that mean? Beauty only comes in size 0-12? No way am I buying anything from that VB range. What are we teaching our children? Money talks so spend yours with thought.

But you can buy from many many retailers that I cannot because all their sizes are too big for me or are designed for taller people.

I assume now you are aware of this you will be appalled at the message this sends about beauty to children, and, as you think money talks, you will spend yours thoughtfully by boycotting all retailers who don’t supply for slimly built short people like me. Thanks for your solidarity!

furryblanky · 26/04/2024 07:18

I love the black dress. It's simple but unusual at the same time.

Moonshine5 · 26/04/2024 18:36

@soupfiend you've convinced me VB is totally inclusive for all shapes and sizes I take it back. 😂
@blimeyslimey you don't know me.

PragmaticDramatic · 04/05/2024 10:29

I saw some of the collection in my local branch of Mango and in all honestly the quality of the pieces I looked at ( blue shirt and knitted little top with short sleeves) seemed like Mango quality and nothing special in the design that seems to justify the price.

I agree. I actually fit within the size range VB appears to deem acceptable, but I think for a mainstream retailer to exclude such a large proportion of their customer base is awful.

mdinbc · 28/05/2024 22:10

I like one of the fitted blazers, with the topstitching, but wouldn't order a blazer without trying it on. I hate that they fit the models with clothing too large for them, the sleeves are too long, and shoulders not fitting. I'm sure it would look great on a proper person in the right size!
