Henna on grey hair

I have mid-brown hair with an uneven distribution of grey.

Has anyone tried brown henna to blend the grey? In the past I have used permanent and semi permanent dyes but it lifts my natural colour leaving it gingery. This is what I was thinking of trying

I used the same brand’s Very Dark Brown on black and increasingly grey hair for several years. It covered the grey very effectively and blended in with the rest of my hair. (And was much nicer, though much more time consuming than normal dye.)

Obviously I can’t tell if the colour you’re considering would work well on your hair!

I use the It’s Pure Auburn.

I find that the grey hairs go a bit gingery but it looks like natural highlights and adds some warmth.

Oh - IIRC the colour takes a couple of days to develop properly. It sometimes seemed a little gingery for the first day or two - then darkened to the proper colour. So I found it useful to plan ahead and do the colouring a few days before I wanted to be seen.

(Eventually it got to the point where I’d have had to use it every week - short hair - so, combined with lockdown, I stopped colouring my hair altogether.)
