How to stop makeup from getting onto wool and silk clothes

I’ve got some lovely wool turtlenecks that I don’t wear very often because my SPF and tinted moisturiser end up on them. The same happens with silk scarves. I’ve become a master of washing silk scarves that say “dry clean only” but it’s quite annoying and I’d rather not wash wool and silk after every wear, they don’t like it.

I’ve read that spraying clothes with hairspray will prevent the transfer but I don’t want to ruin silk and wool with hairspray!

I wear SPF and tinted moisturiser on my face AND neck, because I’m very prone to pigmentation spots and if I don’t do that I look like blue cheese gone bad after a few days in the sun.

Is there a magic product or hack to set my makeup and protect my clothes? Has anyone used the hairspray method on silk and wool successfully? I worry about hairspray buildup on wool and potential discolouration of my silk scarves.

Surely if you are wearing turtlenecks and scarves then you don’t need to put the tinted moisturiser on your neck because it’s covered up.

Personally I would get a better colour match so you arent blending down your neck. If your neck is very pale, warm your foundation with a bronzer

If you are getting in on your clothes whilst putting on and off, drape a scarf over your face first

That’s true, I don’t put it on the whole neck if I don’t have to. Still, there’s no way to prevent parts of a scarf or a sweater getting the makeup transferred on, I move my head around, tuck my chin, lift my arms up and so on.

I used to wear heavier, non-transferable makeup, but now in my 40s I need less coverage and more SPF.

Use a make ip fixing spray.

It’s not a matter of colour-matching. I have short hair so I need to wear SPF on my neck, including the back of my neck, otherwise I would be covered in brown pigmentation spots.

Use a make ip fixing spray.

Could you recommend any? I’ve never had one.
