I’ve not really bought new expensive clothes in over a decade but decided to try to get a nice looking summer jacket which fits me well this year as I’m feeling scruffy. I have previously just bought from charity shops/Vinted but need something a bit crisper, better and perhaps more fashionable than the rags I used to throw on. This is partly because the stuff I have now doesn’t fit me very well and is too drab for how I have aged. To look better I think I need to invest in better clothes.
Except I don’t have a clue where to go shopping anymore? The only new, in person shop I could find that had the type of things I like is Free People in London. I spend a lot of time in London for work and so can go shopping there easily. But because the last time I went shopping I was practically a different person and not long out of my teens I can’t think of where else I should be going!
I want to spend about £70-£160 on the jacket (and it seems at the moment that’s a tight budget for something nice, as there only seems to be fast fashion and high end designer around, everything else is online).
Im also a weird shape, very short, large breasts and wide hips. So the stuff that most of the fashionable people are wearing now (boxy, workman’s jackets, oversized blazers) looks ridiculous on me. I need something that either gathers
at the waist or is cut off at the waist, and puffy feminine sleeves, or if not that just some magic that makes it a good jacket on me.
This is why I find shopping online difficult because I can try on something nice and it looks awful.
