I've tried Curls rock, Snot, Cantu
I bought the Trevor sorbie cream on a whim at Tkmaxx and I really love it
Still looking for something as good

Jad50 · 18/06/2024 21:45

Try inneto curl cream with a volume mousse strong hold I'm getting good results from that I had used trevor sorbie for over 25 years xx

I emailed at the end of June and this was their response

It has come to our attention that our inventory of this product is currently depleted online through Superdrug whilst we also had stock in salons – many are reporting that they are also out of stock. Any remaining stock might be found in TK MAxx

Unfortunately, we do not have specific information on when the product will be available again, If you’d like further advice on alternative products to use, please call or visit your nearest Trevor Sorbie salon and team member will be happy to help

@Jad50
Do you mean this Inecto curl cream?

Hi yes it would be thick like trevor sorbie but hasn't got the same hold so I use shockwaves volume mousse which is strong hold along with it is the best I have found so far x

This morning I washed my hair and put a small amount of Umberto Giannini's creme de curl cream in and styled as usual and left to dry. I'm pretty impressed with the results actually.

Abugfine · 01/07/2024 12:15

Boots curl crème (it’s sold in a jar) works really well for me. Occasionally I’ll go off and try other products but I always end up going back to it.

eileandubh · 01/07/2024 13:30

Aveda Be Curly, comb through, scrunch; Aveda confixor gel, comb through, scrunch. Brush in sections with Bouncecurl defining brush, scrunch. Done.

I really can't be doing with all those multi-product ('cream, then mousse, then gel, then volumiser, then spray...') routines on IG. Two products should be more than enough.

Im not a mum but a 35yr old man with a penchant to get my frizzy hair into curly golden locks, because...Curls get the girls right? :)
Anyway, like many of you, devastated Trevor Sorbet has discontinued. I have tried a few products and the best i can get to is Keune Confident Curl leave in curly - its quite expensive. I compliment it with a cheaper product: Curly Girl: Curl defining cream.

Just now, i figured to use ChatGPT to search the ingredients of Trevor Sorbet and then perform a search of similar products. here is the outcome:

Cubica Wave Curl Cream
Marc Anthony Strictly Curls Curl Envy Cream
Amika Curl Corps Defining Cream

I will give them a go and report back, but thought I would share this in case useful

This sounds promising I will give those a try and yes please report back If any are similar to trevor sorbie thank you for posting xx

How are you getting on with these products Curlyman?

Curly2000 · 18/09/2024 14:50

Ive tried Marc Anthony Strictly curls curl envy cream. Its really good. Still not beating Trevor Sorbie but good. Curls are well defined and great volume. Not as much hold though, softer fluffier curls. Not at all greasy. Only holds for 2 days really. I have tried it combined with strong hold mouse but it doesn't make an awful lot of difference, bar making the product going further.

Great idea to search ingredients @Curlyman

DeloresVonCartier · 18/09/2024 14:54

Qh this used to be one of my faves, haven't used it for years though. If you have hair at the coarser/drier end, maybe the coconut and hibiscus tub from Shea Moisture is worth a shot.

Curly2000 · 18/09/2024 14:56

Ive also tried Techni Art Bouncy and Tender as recommended by Trevor Sorbie salon, it is very similar to Marc Anthony strictly curls. Really good - but still not quite there for hold and frizz.

I would agree lacked hold for me didn't compare to trevor sorbie x

Ive only tried the Marc Anthony - its ok, its a bit 'wet' and therefore looks a tad greasy for me. Not as 'thick' as TS. Ive also tried Arbonne Truestyle Defining Curl Cream which is pretty good and has similar texture to TS.

Stardust77 · 19/10/2024 21:21

I've been trying the Only Curls products. I've been using the curl cream on soaking wet hair before drying. Then squeeze dry with a microfibre towel and then a bit of their mousse to my roots to give some volume and scrunch in some gel. Once I figured out how much product to use I've been getting really good results. Just as good if not better than TS. For subsequent days I am using their water mister and a tiny bit more cream and gel then scrunching. They do a trial pack with sachets for minimal cost if anyone wants to try.

BrightOP · 24/10/2024 11:38

Hi it's available on Ebay, not sure if it's the exact one you used

Lobelia123 · 24/10/2024 11:49

Im using an American brand called Kristin Esse and think its good - same price range as Trevor Sorbie. I use the shampoo, hair mask and also the styling creme and hair jelly - like them all.

MiddleagedBeachbum · 24/10/2024 11:50

I’ve been using the cheap Aloe Vera skin gel and it’s amazing!

alijayg · 13/06/2025 10:36

I've finally found a great alternative to Trevor Sorbie Curl Creme - Superdrug STYLE EXPERTISE DEFINE Curl Cream. Works as good as the fantastic Trevor Sorbie product - thank you @superdrug

eileandubh · 13/06/2025 13:24

Will give that a go!

Has anyone tried Innersense products? Instagram keeps showing me reels of curly hair specialists getting gorgeous bouncy curls with them but... they're stylists.

Curly2000 · 13/06/2025 14:28

Thankyou @eileandubh ! I will try. I have been using AG care Recoil curl activator. It's good the hold just doesn't match Trevor Sorbie though (nothing I have tried does) but the volume and definition for 1 day maybe 2 is as good.

Jad50 · 26/02/2026 14:04

Hi its been a while I'm checking to see if anyone has found the perfect match to the trevor sorbie curl cream xxx

OP posts:
eileandubh · 26/02/2026 16:08

I've tried a few curl creams* since this thread and keep coming back to Windle Lab's Curl cream, plus a gel. It gives nicely defined curls that develop in volume throughout the day and stay unfrizzy for at least 48 hours. Not cheap but I stock up during their Black Friday discounts. Gel, I'm still using Aveda Confixor (good) or Innersense I Create Hold (... OKish) on top.

(viz, Aussie curl cream (rubbish); Christophe Robin curl cream (rubbish); Tootilab cream, plus Tootilab gel (cream made my hair too soft; gel was OK but nothing special), Umberto Giannini (frizzmungus). Still to try Only Curls)
