Are these trousers awful ?

Black wide legged cropped linen with a paper bag high waist?

For work in the summer as a teacher in a classroom / blast furnace?

Or for out of school/ holidays?

Or are they so hideous I should not consider them?

They’re nice. Personally I wouldn’t want to wear a paper bag waist style because I’m a size 20 and they just accentuate my already huge stomach so I’d go for a flatter waist but it completely depends on your figure and what you’re comfortable with.

Skirts are much cooler than trousers.

Like an oversize ruched waist band that resembles a paper bag Scrunched and held at the top?

I like them but with a simple black t shirt only .

I like them. I don't think a simple black t-shirt would be right because it will be just a slightly different black (and if it's exactly the same it will look even wronger)

If it's really hot you'll want to wear the top untucked so won't see the waistband anyway.

They are a standard warm weather trouser style. Completely inoffensive. You see loads of people wearing them every summer

They look absolutely fine, really not hideous at all. Just a normal pair of cropped wide leg trousers and look like they'd be comfy. Wouldn't look twice at someone wearing these.

I'm forever on the hunt for good work trousers, they're a pain! Grab them when you see a pair you like.

They're nondescript. They're not awful. They serve the purpose of wearing something on your bottom half.

Awful. Cropped and wide legged are a horrible combination.

They look like your trousers have had an argument with your socks.

H&M do a great pair every year. So flattering and comfy and a more current length than those cropped ones OP, but I don’t think the ones you’ve posted are bad at all.
